SFC - Environmentally Friendly Expandable Resin

SFC was developed to be an environmentally friendly material. SFC does not include harmful materials at all -- in compliance with RoHS. Additionally, SFC conforms to "the Food Sanitation Law, Food, Additive Material Standards" in Japan as foamed products.

  • SFC can dynamically reduce usage of raw materials compared with conventional EPS because of applicability of high foaming rate. For example, conventionally 30 times (2.19 pcf) foaming rate -> 25% reduction as the effect of 40 times (1.64 pcf) foaming rate
  • SFC, using Pentane gas, can reduce more CO2 emission than the one using Butane gas
  • SFC can dynamically reduce more formed energy than HIPS and PE+PS materials
  • Reduction of CO2 and energy from the source is achieved by reducing overheating in the molding process

Environmental effect about transportation efficiency

  • SFC can dynamically improve transportation efficiency for raw material compared with foamed PE+PS material since it can be processed in molding factories as same as HIPS -- also contributes on CO2 reduction due to the less necessity of transportation).
  • SFC can be recycled and fitted in the conventional EPS recycle system, which has been well established worldwide.
  • The ingot resin is also 100% recyclable, and can be traded in various countries.
  • PE+PS materials have some issues related to environmental because it requires special recycling procedure; thus, the general recycling is not applicable.
